From the moment you open the package a strong strawberry smell is noticeable. The shisha is sealed in an airtight bag with a piece of paper wrapped around it. Another plastic bag is placed around both of these to create the tube like package of Tangiers Shisha. The paper is very colorful and makes the package look “fun”; information and tips about the shisha is also there.

The shisha is quite “fluffy”, as Tangiers says, and the leaves are cut on the large side. Packing a bowl is quite easy because of this and it is very easy to pull apart. I found no stems in the shisha. The molasses is not so much thick as it is sticky, it seems a bit moist but sticks to the leaves very well.

I was very excited as i set up my hookah with cold ice water. I set the coal up and began to take a couple puffs. Unfortunately I only had quick light coals at the time, natural coals would probably have been better for this brand. The flavor was quite strong, I could taste it as I puffed on the smoke. A sort of thick after taste is left that is quite good, and tastes like strawberry. As it lit more and I began taking larger puffs a sort of irritation began in the back of my throat.

Overall Tangiers is a wonderful flavorful shisha, but it is very strong. It burns quite harsh. For best results use natural coals and ice water. Overall I would give this product 3.5 out of 5 rings, as it is flavorful and gives a great buzz, but is almost to harsh to smoke easily.
