Afzal Double Apple Shisha Tobacco Review

AFZAL- Double Apple

Shisha Image

Apple has been a long time staple in the world of shisha flavors. We decided to put Afzal’s Double Apple to the test. Once we had opened the package we were greeted with a dark shisha that has a wet and look and powerful apple smell. Upon taking the first hit of the bowl, my mouth was filled with the pleasant taste of apple. While holding it in my mouth the flavor lasted just as strong and left with the exhale. As it left my mouth my nostrils were filled with the smell of an apple crisp. The finish leaves you with a pretty long lasting sweet taste of a baked apple or apple crisp.
In conclusion, this flavor is a true crowd pleaser, even for people not partaking in the hookah session; its smell is easily distinguished. Although we enjoyed this flavor, it is not at the top of our apple flavored shishas.

Pros-

  • Relatively strong apple taste.
  • Baked apple scent is appealing.
  • Flavor is enjoyed by almost all users.
  • Easily recognizable by both taste and scent.

Cons-

  • At the end of the finish there is an unpleasant non natural taste left in the mouth.
  • Doesn’t finish completely clean.

Afzal Mango Shisha Tobacco Review

AFZAL- Mango

Shisha Image

Today we reviewed AFZAL brand’s mango flavored tobacco Shisha. All AFZAL products are made in India, and come with 4 plastic smoking tips. The molasses and tobacco mixture is dark brown, bordering on black. The tobacco emits a chemical, albeit sweet, smell.Upon smoking the AFZAL mango Shisha we noted its chemical, almost metallic aftertaste. While its smoke was full, smooth, and milky, the flavor left a lot to be desired. The “mango” flavor upon inhalation had a notably chemical flavor, slightly sweet, and slightly metallic. The exhale was slightly more pleasant, bringing out the sweet and fruity notes that we were expecting. The medium strength finish left a chemical and metallic taste in our mouth. We could barely tell that we were smoking mango Shisha, which will bring this Shisha down in the flavor recognition category. The smoke smell was a medium intensity fruit smell, but even we couldn’t pick up the supposed mango scent. In conclusion, this Shisha’s pleasant smell is merely a guise to this Shisha’s chemical taste which is nothing like the delicious mango fruit. So unless you plan on just smelling this Shisha, we would recommend that you avoid it.

Pros-

  • Smooth, pleasant smell

Cons-

  • Unpleasant chemical taste
  • Metal flavored finish
  • Zero flavor recognition

Afzal ChocoMint Shisha Tobacco Review

AFZAL- ChocoMint

Shisha Image

Chocolate mint shisha has been a favorite of many for years. There are many different brands of shisha which have attempted this flavor. Today we decided to investigate Afzal ChocoMint. Once the mini pouch of shisha was opened a strong junior mint like smell invaded our nostrils. The shisha has a wet and dark consistency. We found that it has the benefits of a refreshing mint flavor as inhaled followed by a sweet and flavorful exhale and brief chocolate finish. We found it to be a welcomed change from the typical fruit or spice flavors. Even after most of the taste has left we still experienced the menthol like tingle of the mint on our palates. After the long lasting tingle of the mint subsides there is still an artificial and somewhat unpleasant taste. This shisha is hard to recognize by pure smell of the smoke although that smell is enjoyable.

Pros-

  • Nice mix of mint power with the sweetness of chocolate.
  • Great smell for bystanders.
  • Initial tingle of mint followed by chocolate.

Cons-

  • Somewhat artificial aftertaste.
  • Overall lack of flavor intensity
  • Not the best rendition of chocolate mint we have had.

Al Waha Arabic Coffee Shisha Review

Al-Waha- Arabic Coffee

Shisha Image

This unique shisha takes the road less traveled by being a non-fruit flavored shisha. This savory coffee flavor was a breath of fresh air from the proverbial chokehold that fruit has on the shisha market. The unfired shisha emits a strong coffee smell, with sweet accent. The first impression you get from this shisha is a sweet and creamy flavor, slightly reminiscent of a flavored Starbucks coffee. The smoke retains its sweet flavor during its stay in your mouth, and expands to a richer and fuller coffee flavor upon exhalation. The finish leaves you with an overall sweet taste, however, this sweetness doesn’t resemble coffee at all. While this shisha does offer a novel change from the daily fruit grind, don’t quit your day job just yet.In conclusion, this shisha will not satisfy those looking for a black “cup of joe” flavor, however, it may appease the “would you like some coffee with your cream sugar and syrup sect.”

Coffee Shisha

Pros:

  • Sweet & Mellow flavor.
  • Tastes like a Starbucks “coffee” concoction (if you like those).
  • Appealing scent, straight from your local coffee house.
  • Tastes great if smoked with iced coffee in the base of the hookah (no joke).

Cons:

  • Not the black coffee flavor we were hoping.
  • Tastes like a Starbucks “coffee” concoction.

Sahara Smoke- 19” Candy Stripe Hookah review

Sahara Smoke – 19” Candy Stripe Hookah review

Today we decided to review the Sahara Smoke Co. Candy Stripe Hookah. This hookah is a 19 inch model with two hoses and a ball bearing blow off valve. The bowl color, hose color and strip on the glass base all match to give this hookah a nice consistent theme. Upon first inspection, this hookah was clearly made on an assembly line in China. The flexible bud padded and supportive carrying case is more unique than many hookahs, but most likely doesn’t offer the same protection. The look of the hookah is classy and compact but on further inspection there are some flaws. The metal section between the down stem and the bowl is made out of a very light composite metal. This does keep the overall weight of the hookah down, but it dings easily and is more susceptible to breakage. We do like the hoses, the wooden accents where it connect to the hookah and near the mouth piece give it a more authentic style. One wierd thing about this hookah is the fact that the nozzles for the hoses are two different styles. One is short and the other is long, this might be a freak incident, but it will still cost them half a point. The broad and thin base of the hookah offers a lower center of gravity and more stability, while still offering plenty of water to filter through. Another disadvantage of this hookah is the lack of ball bearings for each hose. Overall this is a nice hookah for the price, but is lacking in a few key areas.

Pros:

  • Consistent styling throughout the hookah.
  • Nice wooden accents on hoses.
  • Nice large machined base.

Cons:

  • Cheap composite metal for the main portion of the hookah.
  • No bearings in the hoses.
  • Inconsistant nozzle styling (one short one long).
  • Less protective carrying case.

Al Waha- Lemon Shisha

Al Waha- Lemon Shisha

Today we decided to review AL-Waha’s lemon shisha. When we opened the pouch for this shisha we were greeted with a consistent texture and an exotic scent. When we placed the coal on, and took the hit we experienced a mild but equally enjoyable lemon flavor. The initial taste resembled that of a lemon square, with the slight bite of lemon and the sugary goodness of a lemony treat. Overall we think that this is a good combo of the sweetness of fruit and the tang of lemon.

Pros:

  • Sweet lemon square flavor.
  • Refreshing bite of citrus.
  • Milky smoke and a solid buzz.

Cons:

  • Not as tangy as a lemon flavor could be.
  • Slight off colored smoke.

SOEX- Herbal Mango Shisha

Soex- Herbal Mango Shisha

Hello, today we decided to go outside of the shisha norm and review a tobacco free hookah product. Soex herbal shisha is completely tobacco, tar and nicotine free. We got our hands on the mango flavor of this shisha. Once we had opened the box it became apparent that this was not like other shishas, the texture was drier than others and spinier. The shisha smelled just like a fresh, juicy mango, and is one of the most pleasing, and wel replicated scents that we have yet to experience. When we began to smoke we were pleasantly surprised with a strong mango flavor. Our expectation was to have no buzz at all due to the lack of nicotine, but we were pleasantly surprised when we felt the head rush and experienced the general euphoria a regular hookah bowl. The finish of the shisha was smooth and sweet, and overall desirable.

Pros:

  • Pleasant smell and taste.
  • Quality thick smoke
  • Nicotine, tar and tobacco free.

Cons:

  • We are still waiting for a perfect mango flavor.
  • White, but less potent smoke.
  • Slightly different buzz.

Al-Sultan Honey Shisha Review

Al-Sultan- Honey Shisha

Al Sultan Honey Shisha

This exotic honey flavored shisha is a real blockbuster. Upon first inhalation we received robust and flavorful honey notes. It reminded me of apitherapy or “raw” honey, the honey that is unfiltired, opalescent, and toffee colored. The smoke is rich and thick, and when exhaled offers a slight taste of lavender. The shisha itself is a wet, gooey, red mass. The box was stained before we even opened the package inside (possibly from contact within the factory). Be careful when packing this shisha as it can seriously stain your clothing, but comes off hand easily with soap and warm water. The flavor might be a little strong for some; it was almost like having a huge glob of liquid honey in your mouth… very intense. This honey shisha flavor is a novel approach to a classic and time tested shisha flavor. We genuinely enjoyed smoking this shisha and would reccomend it to anybody. After this shisha review was over, we were so satisfied with it that we decided to try out Al-Sultans Watermelon flavor… Tune is soon for that review!

Pros:

  • Delicious and robust honey flavor.
  • Aromatic scent that is sure to please even non hookah smokers.
  • Reminds us of raw apitherapy honey.

Cons:

  • May be too sweet for some.
  • Red shisha is really a mess!

Nakhla Rose Shisha Tobacco Review

Nakhla – Rose Shisha

Nakhla Rose Flavored Shisha Box and Bag - 227×300px

Today we sampled he Nakhla Rose shisha. As soon as we opened the box, the strong scent of rose buds. Once we placed the coal on the bowl the room was filled with the scent of Valentine’s Day. It smells like a mix of rose and the sweet scent of warm chocolate. Once we began smoking the chocolate association dispersed and the taste of rose took over. The smoke quality was quite nice, not the whitest milkiest smoke, but it was thick enough for some solid smoke tricks. The smoke seemed to dissipate quickly in the air, which gave a cool effect with smoke ring vanishing. The finish on the flavor is quite pleasant and smooth. We did notice that after the rose smoke has left your mouth, you are imparted with a tingly, almost minty, flavor. This was very pleasant. Althought this is not the best Rose shisha we have tasted, it holds its own due to its unique, away from the norm, flavor and pleasantly cool aftertaste.

Pros:

  • Great smell for the non-smoker
  • Excellent aftertaste
  • Unique taste that diverges from the norm
  • Tingly clean feeling

Cons:

  • Less than milky white smoke quality
  • Smoke leaves the air quickly
